Katie Kussard, LMFT
I’m a psychotherapist who is passionate about helping people reconnect – both with themselves and with the important relationships in their lives. I work with individuals navigating a variety of challenges, including generalized anxiety, grief, C/PTSD, depression, and struggles within their relationships. Many of my clients are in the midst of life transitions or seeking to feel more present in their own experiences.
I deeply value working with those who are ready to explore their challenges, process their emotions, and grow through the experience. My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone holds inherent strengths, and my role is to create a space where you can tap into those strengths, uncover your inner wisdom, and build resilience.
I know that the therapeutic relationship is a cornerstone of healing, which is why I am committed to providing a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe in a nurturing yet direct approach to therapy, one where you will feel empowered, not just listened to. You won’t find me just asking “How does that make you feel?” – I engage with you, challenge when necessary, and walk alongside you as you work towards living a more fulfilled, emotionally balanced life.
Searching for a therapist can be a difficult and vulnerable process. I’m excited about the possibility of working with you and supporting you as you take the next steps toward healing and growth.

Katie outside of the therapy room:
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a passionate traveler who has had the privilege of living abroad and exploring new cultures. These experiences have shaped my approach to life, and I enjoyed learning from the diverse people I met along the way. At home, I am a proud mother to two active boys who keep life lively and adventurous. My dogs bring me joy, and I’m lucky to share my life with a supportive husband as we continue to grow together in our relationship. We live in the beautiful landscape of New Mexico, where the vast, open skies and rugged terrain inspire me daily.
